About

A relaxed family concert exploring Dvořák’s first symphony.

University of Southampton alumni Craig Lawton and Paul Ingram return for their sixth musical marathon fundraiser. The orchestra will perform all nine symphonies across four concerts as they raise funds for the Centre for Cancer Immunology.

They start the day with pianist and broadcaster Keelan Carew for this family-friendly concert that guides you through the composer’s first symphony, ‘The Bells of Zlonice’. Get to know the instruments that form the orchestra. Discover how Dvořák used Bohemian folk music and rhythms as a signature throughout his works.

This concert is suitable for young people who may be considering an instrument or learning music at school.

Dvořákathon is raising funds to support the work of the University of Southampton’s Centre for Cancer Immunology in association with Turner Sims
