About
British Science Festival is coming to Southampton this year, and, as a member of our local alumni community, I’m excited to invite you to a special Southampton Alumni Society event as part of the Festival on Wednesday 16 September.
After a little break, we’re looking forward to bringing our local alumni community back together for this exclusive event. Join us for an evening of catching up with fellow alumni over a drink and pizza, making new local connections, and the chance to hear about incredible, groundbreaking scientific developments happening right here in Southampton.
During the evening, you’ll hear about the University’s new Institute for Medical Innovation (IMI), which aims to transform healthcare and make a lasting difference to the Southampton community and beyond. The IMI’s Director, Professor Paul Elkington MBE, will share the vision for the Institute and how it will bring together world-leading researchers and clinicians to tackle diseases such as cancer and dementia. You’ll also have the chance to meet some of our researchers and hear about their inspiring progress.
