VC Awards
Staff at last year’s VC Awards

The Vice-Chancellor’s awards are an opportunity for the University to celebrate the work of our staff whose creativity, passion and exceptional skills bring the ‘Simply Better’ strategy to life, by making a difference to our students and staff and enhancing the University’s reputation.

Nominations for the 12 awards closed on Friday 9 June, and the team received an impressive 311 nominations overall. The categories span both academic faculties and professional services, covering areas such as career achievement, collegiality, student experience and service to the University. This year, Teaching Awards will also be included as part of the celebration, giving us the opportunity to recognise our most exceptional educators.

Shortlisted nominees will be invited to attend an awards dinner taking place on Friday 13 October at St Mary’s stadium in Southampton.

The Vice-Chancellor says of the awards:

I want to make it clear just how important it is to recognise the contribution of our colleagues around the University. With the expanded categories, we hope to recognise each of the aspects that makes such a difference to the University community. It’s sure to be a wonderful evening at St Mary’s!
