Tempbank has changed, with the successful launch of UniWorkforce taking place earlier this month

All fees/casual or temporary workers are now known as ‘casual workers’ under the new, streamlined process.

Many administration tasks required by managers and casual workers are now online. The HR8 and Fees/Casual Request Forms have been replaced by a new online form accessed through the eRecruit system. Timesheets have also been digitised and will be available on the website for casual workers to download, complete and email for authorisation.

Most importantly, once each casual worker has registered with UniWorkforce they will be issued with a Casual Worker Permit. The Permit details start and end dates, and any visa information and restrictions that managers need to note regarding working hours, so that timesheets can be checked to ensure compliance with UK legislation and visa and immigration rules.

These changes are important and affect all members of staff who currently engage casual, temporary or fees-based workers.

Speaking about the updated, new-look process, Christine Trotter, Head of Human Resources Operations, says:

The process for our casual workers has been streamlined. Casual workers now need to register only once, rather than for every assignment. Right-to-work and visa checks will then be carried out and they will be issued a valid Casual Worker Permit. Hiring managers now know that, within any visa restrictions, their staff are ready to work.

UniWorkforce has been hosting sessions to explain the changes to staff, including how the new online forms work. There are still two opportunities to attend. All staff are welcome to come along without registration.

These sessions are being held on the following dates throughout October:

Date Time Location
Tuesday 17 October 10:00-11:00 WSA, East side L/T b (2001)
Thursday 19 October 10:00-11:00 NETSCC, Conference room

Information about all of the changes and the new UniWorkforce service can be found on the recent SUSSED post, as well as on the UniWorkforce webpage.
